5/25/2023 0 Comments Darkest dungeon tier listHis tierlist has a particular order for quirks * within* each tier, further classifying them based on their important/impact in the game, whereas my reference guide has all quirks within each tier arranged alphabetically, in order to quickly find a quirk when I need to. His tierlist has a brief explanation on the reasoning behind each quirk in each tier, why it's there, why in that order, which classes benefit the most/least from each quirk, etc, whereas my reference guide doesn't have those explanations (for lack of space), it only has a huge list of all the quirks grouped in the same tiers that he used. What this mod is and isn't: This is by no means a replacement for that guide, mostly because there are two major differences: In a way it's better this way, it didn't feel right removing the Credits from the game entirely, I am a game developer myself and as such I firmly believe in giving credit where credit is due, and the developer from Red Hook Studios Inc. This means you can check this info from within the Hamlet, the Quest Selection screen, the Provision screen, during dungeon exploration and even during combat if you need to, the only place where it won't work is the Main Menu of the game, since the game doesn't load mods until you load a save. In order to accomplish this, I needed somewhere to place the huge quirk list so that it can be accessed pretty much everywhere in-game, so I ended up sacrificing the Credits section since you can always access the game menu (the button will still say 'Credits' though). Antiquarian is the cornerstone of dodge parties who can raise dodge so high that they are literally unkillable.Why/How I made this: I made this mostly for myself because I found myself needing some of that info in-game to quickly check which tier a particular quirk belongs to. The darkest dungeon quests themselves have been beaten with a single leper. People have solod bosses with flagellant. Long term planning of hamlet economy and time crucial is the way to go. Ie Arbalest without mark, Leper without backline support You want avoid situations where you are forced to use units that are hard to make a comp without proper support. Which is why you want to prioritize certain units so you can always have a backup just in case. This also only applies to the early game when you don't have every hero in your party. Imo, unit flexibility should be one of key factors in making one of these tier lists. Yea, but there are units that mix and match better than others. But I think they have some merit in showcasing the overall effectiveness of units. I agree that these tier lists are too broad to be analyzed in detail, like they should be separated in terms of world areas. Antiquarian is the cornerstone of dodge parties who can raise dodge so high that they are literally unkillable. If you can’t tell by now I’m sick of stupid fucking tierlists lol. What hero is “best”, if such a thing even made sense, is irrelevant in a normal campaign. You’re cobbling parties together and trying to make the best of the situation. Reynauld got scared of unholy enemies and needs a trip to the sanitarium. You’re not choosing heroes in a vacuum, you’re choosing them based on who is already in the party and what strengths you still seek.Īnd that ignores the fact that a lot of the time you don’t even have a choice to begin with. You mix and match heroes to meet the challenge of a particular mission. And neither of them can stun to save themselves.Īll heroes have pros and cons, strengths and weaknesses. So you can say “X hero is better than Y hero”, but X hero can’t fucking heal can he. You want a mix of healing and stress healing and damage and stuns and camp skills and bleed cures and…. You don’t bring solo heroes to dungeons (except for challenges). The concept of tier lists just doesn’t make sense here tbh.
